I had to send you an email after reading your Jesus Knocking Devotional that you posted yesterday – It so struck me to the heart for what I am currently going through! This past Friday my job position was down-sized and it came as a total surprise. I have been thru two prior down-sizing experiences prior to this, and each time God totally carried me through it all. Your devotional reminded me today that when “our world” is shaken, if we keep our heart truly focused on Him, he gives us a peace that surpasses all understanding. I think I shared with you when we first spoke in March that I have been searching, and praying for a long time for God to reveal his purpose for my life to me, which is what ultimately lead me to you (through Rock Hobbs). He truly closes those doors that we do not need to go thru and I pray that I have the courage to walk thru the ones he opens for me as I desperately seek his direction.

Dallas, although I have not yet had the opportunity to meet you, I wanted to say thank you for your messages of encouragement on your Devotionals, I so look forward to reading them each week and the timing of your message is always right on – isn’t that ‘so God’?!

 It was a pleasure to meet you.  You were right the book is a quick read.  I read it yesterday.  It is a great story of God’s hope, His rescue, His love in your life.  It’s a story of finding your identity in Him and not from your circumstances that you are in.  It is understanding finding your worth and self-esteem in Him.  It is a message of forgiveness of the greatest kind the same kind of forgiveness that God gives to us.

 I am excited for what God is going to do through you as you tell your story and instead of becoming bitter and let it eat you from the inside out.  You are allowing God to work everything from your life for His good.  Women need to hear your story.  Praise God for you and the women that God is already going to change through your life story.

The good news is that all of us are recipients of a love that has no end, a love that has never forsaken us. I write of a love that will be with us regardless of our social status or waistline.  God is our true valentine.   If love is more than words, Jesus expressed that love over 2,000 years ago when He gave His life so that we might understand the depth of such a love.

Jesus also came to teach us that God is available for all who seek Him. He is knocking!  Just waiting for you to understand how special you are and when you do, you will fall in love with the One who loved you first. When you understand the true measure of God’s love as revealed in the bible, knowing how He loves you, it compels you to love others.  We are all His children.

What can you do to show the love of God this Valentine’s Day to your spouse, your children, your friends, your neighbors and your community. Don’t forget to throw some love to yourself as well. God loves you so you need to love yourself as well.

My prayer is that you feel His ever presence (love) and know that you are a child of God.
