So What is the Power to Say Yes?

Laughing More, Loving Much and Living Now

The Power to Say Yes is Dallas’ personal story of surviving and overcoming the residual effects of abandonment and abuse. Regardless of what it looks like, abuse is abuse. Sometimes you cannot see the scars; in fact, they can be so deep that they are invisible to the human eye. We must find our INNER FROG to fight the emotional prison and leaping toward the joy that we truly deserve. This book is designed to encourage others to regain their joy and live the life that God intended.

Feeling like you have no control, walking on eggshells and always waiting for the other shoe to drop?  Do you find yourself often wanting things to change, but not having the resources or the legal authority to take action? Caught between the sad state of despair and unrelenting guilt of seeing the one you love suffer while discounting your own needs and healthy boundaries. If this sounds like you or some that you know, this book was designed to help you take back your life.

Welcome to surviving and thriving beyond a bipolar parent. While I am the older child of a bipolar parent, I know that many friends and family members also suffer greatly from this roller coaster of a relationship. Often times we are focused on the person with the illness, while disregarding the impact this behavior has on those that love them.

After living years in the cycle of unhealthy relationships, I have finally found a way to acknowledge my pain but break the barriers that held me back for so many years. Although the outward appearance was one of confidence and success, my true self was suffering from the emotion, verbal and mental abuse from the past.  Until I understood that I had to change my normal, I would never be able to recognize a health relationship- one that was nurturing, life giving and unconditional.

It is time to come out of the closet and be free to feel your pain.  You are not alone. Although our situations may be different, the commonality is an underlying hurt that we bury in hopes that it will go away.  We consciously try to bury our past, thinking that if we do not talk about it or better yet, ignore it, it will just go away. Not true. What happens time and time again is that we continue to lose unless we take action and work on our healing. We can choose to be victorious and leave the victim in the past where it belongs.
